The last few weeks have been tough for many of us, but it hasn’t stopped DrivenNet from working hard, planning more automotive business adventures for our members. We’re conscious there’s a lot of negativity in the world so we’re striving to #spreadpositivity. Here’s a little insight into what’s happening behind the scenes at DrivenNet HQ - start your engines, give the loud-pedal a tickle and look forward to some of the events we’re finalising for 2020/21:
Supercar factory tour
Courtesy of one of one of our host venues we’ve arranged for a number of our Yorkshire DrivenNet members to see their supercars being built at an incredibly special facility in Gaydon – more on this to follow.
Drive out to the ‘Yorkshire 100’
Following feedback from members, we’re planning a Yorkshire drive out immediately following on from a DrivenNet event. We’ve curated a route which takes in amazing A-roads, blistering technical B-roads and wraps up with a proper pub lunch in stunning surroundings of the North York Moors. A great opportunity to enjoy outstanding roads and more time to get to know your fellow DrivenNet members.
The SIMTrack DrivenNet challenge
As many of you will know, one of our partner businesses, SIMTrack Driver Performance Centre, have very kindly hosted a number of discounted corporate events at their awesome simulator centre, exclusively for DrivenNet members. These events have seen members from both the Yorkshire and Cheshire DrivenNet groups attend and compete for top honours in the ‘Fastest Lap Shootout’ challenge!
The team at SIMTrack have compiled the DrivenNet Leaderboard below, with everyone’s Fastest Laptimes (please note, this list comprises members and non-racers only). Cheshire member, Matt Ellis of Honcho.Agency, tackled the Silverstone International Circuit in a (virtual) Ginetta G55 Supercup, and laid down the impressive benchmark of 1m 09.854s! Rory Cunningham currently leads the way for the Yorkshire contingent.
Post-lockdown, SIMTrack have offered to host another of these exclusive DrivenNet events for our members, with a further incentivised rate of just £100 +VAT per person. Anyone interested in trying to challenge Matt’s time (returning drivers also welcome!), please drop Adam Croft a line (adam@simtrack.co.uk) to register your interest, and a date will be fixed upon a return to normality.
We appreciate the on-going situation carries a lot of uncertainty for absolutely everyone. We’ve been incredibly lucky with a successful first year, delivering DrivenNet events and we’ve welcomed over 300 businesses to events in our first 12 months. If you need support or you’re looking to speak to someone in a specific business/sector, please do get in touch and we’ll support you the best way we can. Similarly, if you run a business in the automotive sector (manufacturing, sales, engineering, racing etc.) and you’re interested in hosting a DrivenNet meeting once we reach a new kind of normal, we’d love to hear from you.
We’ll be keeping both members and guests up to date as the situation develops. If you’d like to attend a DrivenNet event as a guest, you can register your interest here and as soon as it’s safe for us to continue delivering events, you’ll be the first to know. In the meantime, stay safe, look after each other and where you can #SpreadPositivity
The DrivenNet Team
