We’re conscious there’s a lot of negativity in the world so we’re striving to #spreadpositivity. The last few weeks have been tough for many of us, but it hasn’t stopped DrivenNet from working hard, planning more automotive business adventures for our members. Here’s a little insight into what’s happening behind the scenes at DrivenNet HQ - start your engines, give the loud-pedal a tickle and look forward to some of the events we’re finalising for 2020/21:
Porsche centre – demonstrator drives
Sadly, our March DrivenNet event at Porsche Centre Chester had to be postponed. While we were in talks with Porsche about rearranging the event, the prospect of a driver demonstrator day cropped up. If all goes to plan, our members will be handed the keys to some of the finest motoring masterpieces to come out of Stuttgart. Porsche Chester have also hinted that when they eventually host the events, it’s highly likely they’ll have taken delivery of their flagship EV – the Porsche Taycan.
Drive out to the Evo Triangle
Following feedback from members, we’ve reorganised the North Wales Evo Triangle drive out so it will follow on from a DrivenNet event. We’ve curated a route which wafts along flowing A-roads from the borders, across technical B-roads towards the Snowdonia National Park before wrapping up with a lap (or two) of the Evo Triangle. A great opportunity to enjoy amazing roads with a lunch stop and more time to get to know your fellow DrivenNet members.
Lunch... trackside... at a British Touring Car Championship round
Courtesy of our wonderful friends at Speedworks Motorsport – they’ve offered to host one of our Friday morning meetings in the paddock of Oulton Park. Their hospitality truck and marquee setup has room for up to 150, and subject to practice timings, one of their BTCC drivers will present on ‘life in the driving seat’. We’re finalising details but if all goes to plan, there should be the option to stick around after the event to see the cars on-circuit undertaking practice.
We appreciate the on-going situation carries a lot of uncertainty for absolutely everyone. We’ve been incredibly lucky with a successful first year, delivering DrivenNet events and we’ve welcomed over 300 businesses to events in our first 12 months. If you need support or you’re looking to speak to someone in a specific business/sector, please do get in touch and we’ll support you the best way we can. Similarly, if you run a business in the automotive sector (manufacturing, sales, engineering, racing etc.) and you’re interested in hosting a DrivenNet meeting once we reach a new kind of normal, we’d love to hear from you.
We’ll be keeping both members and guests up to date as the situation develops. If you’d like to attend a DrivenNet event as a guest, you can register your interest here and as soon as it’s safe for us to continue delivering events, you’ll be the first to know. In the meantime, stay safe, look after each other and where you can #SpreadPositivity
